Well worth the price!

I'm impressed that this filter does so well! The pump sounds quieter when it runs and best of all, no more smell of oil in the house. I've now run 6 candy cycles on it and still no hit of oil in the air. Expensive, but worth it!

A must for all freeze dryers

Smell of oil is gone, water in pump is next to nothing compared to standard filter. This should be included with every freeze dryer, it’s that good!

Upgraded Oil Mist Filter

I recently purchased my first Freeze Dryer and choose the BA Large Elite. I went with the standard pump as cost was a bit of a factor. The machine has worked flawlessly for a number of loads. However, being winter, we've kept the garage door closed. Our Garage is fairly well sealed. After a very long and overnight run I would come to the garage and see a layer of "fog" in the garage. The smell was a bit strong as well. This didn't exactly invite me to want to run on the treadmill and work out breathing this. So, I purchased the Advanced 3-stage oil mist filter.

It is a night and day difference. The smell is almost entirely gone. No visible mist in the air. I am noticing that the pump is only achieving a 350 - 400 mTorr now where it previously was producing 120-180 mTorr. This could be a coincidence of the machine breaking in, or the difference between the break-in oil and the new oil (I've done 2 oil changes).

But as for the quality of the air in the work space and even a reduction in noise... much improved!

Great Oil Filter

In full disclosure, I barely used the non 3 stage oil filter. This one is great. I won't say it hides any smells, but does its job. I'm all in on Blue Alpine products. They are just terrific!
